Cobalt Based Alloy Investment Castings

Cobalt Casting

Ronit TechnoMake produces cobalt-based investment castings for customers in many industries where harsh working conditions, high maintenance costs, part wear and costly downtime can be problematic for the end user. With hundreds of years of combined experience in investment casting, our team has the skills and the know-how to deliver cast parts with complex geometries and tight dimensional tolerances.

Our in-house tool and die shop helps us manufacture parts that match our customers’ design specifications. We consistently produce parts with levels of perpendicularity, flatness, and parallelism that other investment casting companies can’t achieve.

Advantages of Cobalt Casting

By working with Ronit Technomake for your next Cobalt casting, you get the following advantages:-

  • Exceptional Quality: Exceptional visual appearance is possible for parts that require high visual quality.
  • Surface Finishes: 120 RMS or better is easily achieved
  • Close Tolerances: ±.005 inch per inch tolerance levels can be achieved
  • Near Net Shape Parts: Avoid long run time machine parts using near net cast parts.

Our in-house machining capabilities enable us to deliver finished, complete-to-print parts that save our customers time, money, and headaches. Rigorous quality-control testing and available third-party non-destructive testing ensure that every cobalt-based alloy casting we produce meets or exceeds our own high-quality standards and our customers’ expectations.

Our expertise in manufacturing complex, cobalt-based investment castings results in products that last longer, perform better, and are more cost-effective for our customers, giving them a true competitive advantage.

Applications of Cobalt Based Alloy Investment Castings

Cobalt-based investment castings can outperform many alternate materials. These components are largely chosen in applications that demand high wear, oxidation and corrosion resistance. With exceptional creep resistance, anti-galling properties and surface stability under high-stress conditions, Cobalt-based investment castings are being used more and more for tough applications.
  • Medical implants
  • Food processing equipment (high wear)
  • Heavy industrial applications like plow tiles
  • Turbine Blades
  • Pump sleeves
  • Rotary rings
  • Blades
  • Vanes
  • Valve seats
  • Fuel Nozzles

We work with various grades of Cobalt-based alloys such as Cobalt 21, Stellite, Cobalt 25(L-605), Triballoy and implantable grade ASTM F-75 CoCrMo to produce parts with complex geometries and tight dimensional tolerances. When required, we conduct non-destructive testing on finished parts to ensure that the final components meet the NDT class and grade required. We can cast near-net shape cobalt-based castings with minimal secondary machining required. Standard casting tolerances are +/- .005 inches per inch.
